• TL:DR? Watch this video instead :) Now more than ever a blog is essential for any business. I have written previously about how your customers are using the internet for all manner of tasks. You can learn just about anything online now, book everything online, order all manner of services, you can even design custom fabric and get a pattern printed directly onto it and sent to you to sew. You can probably hire someone to sew it for you too! How do customers and clients find the products, services or contractors that they want? They use search and they use social referrals or finds. Think about your last five online purchases: what prompted you to purchase? When you think

  • A bank holiday weekend kicked of the week slowly here in Ireland but social media never stops. Here are some of the posts we read and shared on Twitter and Facebook this week. "4 Top Networking Tools for social media" by Susan Gilbert. We like the look of Content Gems in particular "Snapchat Storytellers Is the App’s New Way of Connecting Brands and Influencers" I hate to admit it but once Instagram introduced Stories I began to shy away from Snapchat. Not many of my clients see the user demographics on the platform. This is an attitude I fear though and I welcome initiatives like this because it allows brands who are uncomfortable with the platform gain access through expert users.

  • My take aways from #measurement16, an annual conference run by Mulley Communications on the thorny issue of measuring online. A quick post to share some of the wisdom I garnered at this year's MeasurementConf. This annual conference does exactly what it says on the tin, focusing entirely on measuring the efficacy of online campaigns. Unfortunately, I was unable to stick around for the afternoon but if I

  • One of my New Year's resolutions was to network more. So I joined the LEO Dublin Women's Business Network. My first meeting as a fully paid up member was January which kicked off on a suitably go get em note with Breda Stackpool. During the course of her motivating,  January presentation Breda Stackpool mentioned that a client of hers had made numerous sales worth an impressive amount of cash via Snapchat. My ears pricked up: I had heard Paul Buckley, Head of Social Media in Aer Lingus, talking at MeasurementConf15 about Aer Lingus using Snapchat for customer engagement and a certain amount of PR traction when launching a new route but actual measurable sales? I was intrigued. I knew I finally had to
